Children’s Ministries

SGCC has a well known history of successful ministry in the lives of young men and women. The current prayer room in the lower level with the many handprints is a testimony of sacrifice, love, and discipleship.

We offer a thematic ministry for our children to insure that they will be exposed to foundational Biblical stories and principles. Children are encouraged to participate in our Sunday Morning Worship times and are dismissed to their ministry centers following our time of giving to the Lord.

Curriculum – We use David C. Cook curriculum  to provide consistent age-level material to our Sunday School classes.

At the beginning of the Sunday School time children remain together to sing songs, to review memory verses and to do preparation activities for the lesson.  After this the children are divided into the age groups for the lesson, craft, and snack.

Explorer Girls – Explorer Girls is an exciting new program for girls who are in 5th – 8th grade. Explorer Girls is a Bible based ministry to help young girls grow into young women who love the Lord by connecting them with older women who model and demonstrate the love of Christ through the teaching of the Word, Christ-centered activities, and by challenging each girl to put into practice the truths from the Bible lessons. Girls will also learn important practical life skills that will help shape their character as young women. This ministry is open to all in this age group.
